Author Bio!

Shoals music pioneer Norbert Putnam will talk about the early days of Muscle Shoals music.  He is a Florence native and an original member of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, Putnam was tapped early in his career to play for Elvis Presley in Nashville, TN.

Since then, he has played bass with numerous legends such as Roy Orbison, Al Hirt, Henry Mancini, Linda Ronstadt, J. J. Cale, Tony Joe White, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Michael Card, Ian & Sylvia, and Bobby Goldsboro.

He has worked as a music producer for much of his career and helped further the careers of folks likeJimmy Buffett, Joan Baez, Dan Fogelberg, Brewer & Shipley, Pousette Dart Band, Donovan, John Hiatt, J.J. Cale, the Flying Burrito Brothers, and the New Riders of the Purple Sage.

His book, Music Lessons, will be released just in time for the Reader Riot!
